Sandcliff Hotel
Cromer, Gem of the Norfolk Coast
There is a great deal to see and do in and around the picturesque Norfolk town of Cromer.
Famous for it's town centre church, historic pier, lighthouse and it's crab fishing industry, Cromer is steeped in local history as can be seen in the local museum which gives a great insight into the past.
For the golfing fan there are many fine courses within easy reach including Royal Cromer, Sheringham, and the Links at West Runton. All are fine and challenging courses to play.
The bowls player is also well catered for with many clubs in the area that are always welcoming to players of all standards.
For the animal lover there is The Shire Horse Centre at East Runton, Redwings Horse sanctuary, Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens and at Great Yarmouth there is a Sea Life Centre to name but a few.
For the more craft minded among you, there are the Wroxham Barns, the Alby Craft Centre and a great time can be had at the Langham Glass Centre. There are markets at Cromer and Sheringham while most villages hold car boot sales in the Summer so there is the odd bargain [ and a lot of rubbish ] to be picked up too.
The renowned Norfolk Broads are only twenty minutes away where you can either hire your own craft for the day or relax and board one of the many tour craft available that can show off the beauty of the area while you put up those aching feet.
The fine city of Norwich is just twenty four miles away, Great Yarmouth about thirty and Hunstanton is just a short ride further. For a day trip away you could visit Sandringham and if the good lady is in she might invite you in for a cuppa. You never know.
All in all, Cromer is a great place to base your holiday or tour of North Norfolk.
